Child Safety Standards
MoNomo. Last updated: October 12, 2026
Zero tolerance
MoNomo prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexualizing minors, grooming, sextortion, and any attempt to contact or meet a minor for sexual purposes. This applies to profiles, profile walls, messages, photos, comments, events, and groups.
Adults only
MoNomo is for people 18 and older. Signup asks for a birth date and refuses anyone under 18, and an account works only after its owner confirms an emailed code. Accounts are not reviewed by a person before they can use the app, but new member-made groups and events are, and a new account cannot browse the member directory until it is a week old or a friend vouches for it. An organizer can give a group or event an age range, and no range may start below 18. Anyone who appears to be a minor is removed.
People convicted of a sexual offense, or required to register as a sex offender, in any jurisdiction may not use MoNomo. We remove an account on a credible report that it belongs to someone in either group.
Reporting in the app
MoNomo has a Report option on profiles and profile photos, on every message and whole conversations, on photos sent in messages and discussions, on comments and posts on profile walls, and on events and groups. Reports go to a moderation queue reviewed by a person, and reports about someone under 18, or about predatory or abusive behavior (grooming, sexual harm, abuse), go to the top of it. Users can also block anyone from their profile or from inside a conversation, which takes effect immediately.
You can also report directly to support@monomoapp.com.
What we do
- Remove the content and permanently ban the account responsible.
- Report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, as US law requires, and cooperate with law enforcement.
- Preserve what the law requires us to preserve for investigators, and nothing more.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first. You can also report to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
Compliance
MoNomo complies with applicable child safety laws, including the obligation to report CSAM to NCMEC.
