Use MoNomo with AI
For Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps that take a remote MCP server. Last updated: October 30, 2026
Ask your AI app for an ex-Mormon meetup near you, a therapist who won't try to fix your faith, or the latest on the church's legal adventures. It looks it up on MoNomo and answers with real listings and links. Your journal and your messages stay where they are, which is nowhere near it.
Connect it
-
Copy this address.
https://api.monomoapp.com/mcp Add it to your AI app as a custom connector, sometimes called a remote MCP server or an MCP server URL. In Claude, it's a custom connector. Other apps put it wherever they keep connectors or MCP servers; look for a way to add one by URL.
Sign in on MoNomo. The app opens monomoapp.com. Sign in with Google, Apple, or your email, read what it can and can't do, and tap Approve. You never give the AI app your password, and you never paste a token anywhere.
Ask it something. "Find ex-Mormon meetups near 84604 this month." "Books for a mixed-faith marriage." "Any new episodes from post-Mormon podcasts?" "RSVP me to the Saturday coffee." It asks before it RSVPs, joins or stars anything.
No MoNomo account yet? The sign-in page lets you make one first (Google and Apple work for that too), then it comes back to Approve. Took longer than 15 minutes? Start connecting again from the AI app.
What it can do
- Find events, groups, resources, podcasts and news, including member events and groups you can see in the app
- See your RSVPs, your groups and your favorites
- RSVP or cancel, join or leave groups, and add or remove favorites, when you ask it to
Events and groups marked as listings are public info MoNomo didn't organize. Each one comes with its source link, so check the details there before you drive anywhere.
What it can never do
Read or touch your journal, your messages, or anything else private. No Vent, no Burn Box, no saved articles, no settings, no profile, no friends list, no admin.
It never gets other members' names, who's going, or where member meetups happen (just the city).
That isn't a setting someone can flip. The connection simply has no way to reach those parts of MoNomo: an AI app's sign-in only works on the few tools listed above.
Privacy, in plain words
- Places stay approximate. For events and groups members run, the AI app gets the city, never the spot. The address stays in MoNomo, for the people going.
- No names. It never gets other members' names, who's going, or who's in a group. It can't look anyone up, because there's nobody to look up.
- You can see what it did. MoNomo, Settings, Account, Connected AI apps lists every app you connected, when it was last used, and what it did for you ("RSVPed to Saturday Coffee via Claude").
- Disconnect any time. Tap Disconnect there and the app is out at once. Signing out of MoNomo, or changing your password or email, disconnects every app too.
- Nothing goes on your friends' feed. An RSVP or a join through an AI app is as quiet as one in the app.
- The app's name is its own claim. The approve page shows whatever the AI app calls itself. MoNomo doesn't check it, so only approve an app you just started connecting yourself.
- Your AI app is its own company. What you ask it, and what it does with the answers, falls under that app's privacy policy, not ours. MoNomo only sees the lookups it sends us. More in our Privacy Policy.
Without an account
An AI app can also use MoNomo signed out, at this address:
https://api.monomoapp.com/mcp/public
That's the free sample: public listings, resources, podcasts and news only, never member events or groups, and it stops after 30 lookups a day from one internet address. Every answer ends with a note on how to connect for the rest. Nobody follows up to ask how you liked it.
What it's not for
- Church meeting times, ward or temple info, or doctrine questions from a believer. The church has its own sites for that.
- Finding, contacting or learning about a specific person. There's no member directory to search.
- Arguing anyone into or out of a faith.
It isn't a crisis line. If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or you're in danger: in the United States, call or text 988. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number or a local crisis line.
For AI agents and developers
- llms.txt: what MoNomo is, both addresses, and when to use it, in one short file.
- Server card (MCP Server Card, SEP-2127) and OAuth protected resource metadata (RFC 9728).
- MCP revision 2026-07-28, plus the initialize-based 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26 revisions. Streamable HTTP, POST only. OAuth 2.1 with PKCE (S256), Dynamic Client Registration or a Client ID Metadata Document, tokens bound to the /mcp address. Access tokens last an hour; refresh tokens rotate on every use.
